What KB article did you find?
This may be a long shot, but:
In the past when I've seen a similar issue, it's because the AV software on
the Exchange
Server is taking too long to process messages as Outlook is requesting them.
Whenever the virus definitions on the server are updated, all attachments
are flagged for a scan. If that scan doesn't happen, each attachment is
scanned when it's next accessed. Outlook gets impatient because the server
is taking longer than Outlook is willing to wait to hand the message over.
If this is indeed the issue, you need to either open all your messages that
contain attachments at least once, or you need to have your Exchange Admin
run a scan with the AV
software on the Exchange mailbox store(s) so the attachments get marked as
"safe".
