Archiving Office 2003

Hi all,
I have a simple questions which I have not been able to find a
solution to. At work we are using Office 2003 Outlook for our email
client. Recently an end user had thought that she had archived all her
folders (about 20). She opened a new profile and imported this
archive. Well, for some reason she had not touched the any folder
except for the main folder thinking that the archive settings would
have cascaded down to the sub-folders. Making a long story short, she
lost all her information in the sub-folders.
Question, how can I show people how to set the archive settings for
the sub-folders without going to each individual folder, or can this
not be done on the main folder?
Thanks for the time.

Well for a start you should tell your user NOT to use the IMPORT function.
a)there is no need and b)that may well have been the reason data was lost.
just tell her to do File-Open-Outlook Data File from within outlook in
future.

Global Archiving settings are applied to all folders by default. They only
change if you tell Outlook that you want different settings on specific
folders.

The main folder can be used as your default archive folders which the sub-folders can be use. Right off, I do not show a way to set this up globally for all folders. This may be because each folder can have its own specific archiving setup.

Kind Regards
