Hi

I would like to know how to set a time frame for the archives folders. i.e.
to delete files after 1 year. I can't seem to find a setting to do this.

Local folders are sent to archives when they are 3 months.

Help appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Richard

Not quite clear; you want to delete archive folders (inside a PST file),
or archive files (the PST files themselves)?

The first is quite easy to automate (using AutoArchive), the second may
not be possible, as you will also need to remove it from your Outlook
profile.

Hi Pat

Thanks for taking time to answer. I am trying to automate delete emails that
are 1 year and older in the archives folder. Still couldn't find a function
that does this. Last resort is to do it manually.

You can use AutoArchive for this. Yes, AutoArchive also works on archive
files - it's just a PST file like the original one. Instead of moving
them to another archive file/folder, select 'Permanently remove old items'.

Hi Pat

I think the "Permanently Remove Old Items" will delete the emails and not
send the items to the archive folders. Or am I wrong about it...

Thanks again
Richard

Hi Pat

Yes, you are right about it. I didn't know the folders in the archive and be
'archived'.

Many thanks for the tip.
