I have just read through some of the posts here and I understand old version
(97-2002) had limitations of 2GB for pst files.

My pst file was 97-2002, but was in outlook 2007.

If I create a new PST file in this outlook and copy the folders from the old
version PST to the new version (assuming i can fix the corruption), will that
fix my issue of 2GB limitation? (I need to move the archive to a new 2007
install on my new pc).

Thank you.

Yes, if you create a new PST in the new format and copy your data to it, the
limitation will be gone.

Microsoft Outlook 2002 and earlier versions limit the size of
Personal Folders (PST) file to 2GB. Whenever the PST file reaches or
exceeds that limit, you will not be able to open or load it any more,
or you cannot add any new data to it. This is called oversized PST
file problem. More detailed information can be found at
http://www.datanumen.com/aor/problems/2gb-pst.htm

You can use Advanced Outlook Repair to solve the problem, by either
converting it into Outlook 2003 format ( http://www.datanumen.com/aor/problem...rt-2gb-pst.htm
), or splitting it into smaller pieces ( http://www.datanumen.com/aor/problems/split-2gb-pst.htm
)

http://www.datanumen.com/aor/ contains the detailed information about
Advanced Outlook Repair.

And you can also download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe
