Hello, I've recently changed computers and am trying to get my archive file
into outlook on the new computer. I go through the importing process and have
it load everything into Outlook. It gets the trash bin and sent mail folder
(both of which are empty) and that's it. I know there's atleast something
more in there because the file is 60MB in size.

Thank you very much for your help.

The default PST (personal store) file is called outlook.pst by default. The
archive.pst is your archived older mail. Just to clarify.

If you're looking to load in all your emails, calendar, contacts, etc. you
want to use the otulook.pst (unless you renamed it). Instead of importing
(which can sometimes corrupt the file), use File > Open and browse to the
appropriate PST file you want to use.

If you've burned the PST file onto CD, make sure that you copy the file back
onto the computer and remove the read-only attribute from the properties of
the file. Then open it.

Please post back if you run into any issues. Good luck!

PS Outlook backup and restore (excellent information):

K,

I have a backup.pst file on a CD-Rom from last year that I am looking to
restore and pull out some of the emails. The problem: If I attempt to copy
the file from CD after 7 minutes of copying I get the the message " Cannot
copy backup: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)" If I attempt to import
into Outlook (2007) I get " File access denied you do not have permission
required to access file" When I created the backup I did not protect it.

The backed up .pst file is from Outlook 2003.

Thanks for the assistance,

The CRC error suggests that the CD is bad or you have a hard drive problem.
Try copying the PST from the CD to the hard drive of a different computer.
If that works, the HD of the first computer has a problem. If you get a CRC
error, you know the CD is toast.
