Hello,

I know this is not nearly the first time this issue has arisen b/c
I've searched through and tried tons of different solutions...but it
seems everyone else's solution doesn't work for me.

I am trying to upgrade from a 80gb hard drive to a 160 gb in my
Toshiba laptop. I am using the apricorn ez upgrade kit. I've cloned
the drive MULTIPLE times and I have gotten the Congratulations!
screen. Then when I physically install the new drive, I get the
Toshiba splash screen followed by nothing but the blinking cursor.

Apricorn tech support suggested doing the clone under their "custom"
settings and choose to copy the partitions "as is" (which I have read
in other posts). I did this multiple times followed by the
Congratulations! screen...and nothing but the blinking cursor again.

I have also read that some users w/ Thinkpads have been told to
disable the pre-desktop area in the BIOS settings. I don't know if
the settings are different for Toshiba but when I enter BIOS >
Security I don't have the option - the only thing that I find under
Security in BIOS is where to set up user & admin passwords.

Any thoughts, ideas anything?

Thanks

Is the partition getting set as Active in all this?

Try cloning it with BootitNG free to try, use maintenance mode so you don't
have to install it.

Make sure the partition is marked as Active

I have used it countless times.
