AppSvc32.exe - What does sys process do?

Hi,

AppSvc32.exe consumes between 5-55% of CPU per the Windows Task Manager.

What does this executable do? Can it be safely removed/deactivated and if
so, how?

Any input and feedback is appreciated.

It's associated with a Symantec product.
