Hi,

just have a small question as to how to stop other applications from running
(as in non-authorized) ?

As far as I can see i have to punch in a complete path to the .exe file for
me to stop it. I want something where I can just type the filename.exe and
then it'll stop all processes.

But what if the user is launching the program from the mailclient (lotus
Notes 5.0.6a) the program will be detached to the users %temp% and not the
Machine %temp%. How can I prevent this ?? Via Appsec.exe or other tools ??

Environment:

Domain is a NT 4 domain.
8 Terminal Servers running Win2k Std. SP 3 with Citrix Metaframe XPe 1.0
FR2.
Publishing a full desktop.

Kind Regards
Michael Munk

Ah appsec. I love that program. It has saved me so much
time and effort.

While it may be a little difficult to setup since you have
to have the paths, the security it provides is
outstanding. The only problem with a executable-name only
system is that someone can rename their program to match
another allowed executable and then they can run their
program. With Appsec and NTFS permissions, you can
prevent this.
