We recently upgraded to 2000 a server running an
app/database accessed by users local to the server and
users at a remote site. Since the upgrade the remote site
access is vastly improved ( it was very slow before the
upgrade)but now the local users a experiencing extreamly
slow response times.
What did I do wrong?

Try running some rudimentary pings and some performance
counters. See if the ping time is high or if packet loss
is excessive. Also, check the performance counters to make
sure that the processor isn't bogged down or something
else like that.

Also, does this problem seem to occur during certain times
of the day? Could your local network hardware be dropping
packets or otherwise not handling the load properly?
