your OS, Service Pack level
and the FULL contents of any error message(s)

You might try creating a message rule..

Tools - Message rules - Mail - New

[x] where the From line contains people
[x] move it to the specified folder (Junk)

click on "contains people"
click on Contacts
select the approved contacts
click on From
click ok
click on Options...
Apply rule if: [x] Message does not contain the people below
ok

click on "specified folder"
select Junk E-mail
ok
ok
