I've been having a very odd occurance, where I'll set an appointment, but if
I go back and edit it in any way, (like go back in and assign a catagory) it
turns the appointment into a weekly reoccuring appointment for 10 weeks. If
I go back in and try to remove the reoccurance, nothing happens. Anyone
experience this or know how to stop it?

Is this a Dell machine? If yes, look in control panel->add/remove programs to see if there is a program named addinsetup. If yes, then uninstall it and your problem should go away.

After furious head scratching, Jeff asked:

Worked like a charm. Not only did it fix the appointment issue, but Outlook
is running perfectly now. I was having the slow running issues that a lot of
people seem to have on the boards, and now it's fixed and I'm not sucking an
entire core of processing. I am overjoyed.

Will not having that program running affect me in any way down the line? Or
was it something Dell added and was completely extraneous?
