Applying archive settings to subfolders

I have Outlook 2002 and have a problem with the PST file reaching 1.9Gb,
which I have seen before, so I archived old stuff and compacted, but it did
not make much difference.
I discovered that many of my subfolders are set to not archive, and i have
around 300 of them, (all customers, alphabetical, very well organised, but
slightly complex I know!).

Is there a way to apply archive settigns to all subfolders, since I tried
this and it only seems to apply to the next folder down from inbox, not
deeper.
So for example Inbox-customers is fine, but Inbox-customers-A-Alcatel,
subfolder is not touched.

Any ideas?
