How to apply customized view to all folders

When I change a customized email view it applies only to the folder that I
change it in, even though I want it to apply to *all* folders. If I switch
to another folder that uses this view, the view has the same name, but the
properties are unchanged. How can I change a customized view and have the
changes apply to all folders that use that view?
