Quite a number of application after installation do not show up in Start, or
in Start-All Programms or on the Desktop. But they are shown on the hard
drive in Program Files and can be started from there.
At the same time there are applications which show up everywhere.
Why is that?

This happens when the installation program fails to create the
appropriate shortcuts. You need to create them manually.

For sime reason the program didn't place a shortcut to the
itself eiither it wasn't checked durinig installation or
the program doesn't install shortcuts. In any case you can right click on the
programs .EXE
& drag to create a shortcut to desktop. Then right click on start & select
Explore and place
the shortcut in the Start Menu folderWhen you click on Start the shortcut
will appear, you can then drag it to whereerver you want it.to appear

Simple: Using the right mouse button, drag the application's
executable from its current location into
c:\documents and settings\all users\start menu.

When prompted, select "Create shortcut here".
