Applications crash on installing printer

Word 2003 on my machine (2000 professional) was automatically crashing
so I uninstalled all the printers. And it did solve word crashing
problem.

Now when I install any printer, word again start crashing. Also on
giving print command from IE and notepad also causes to crash that
application.

Please let me know solution for this problem.
