Every time I boot up, WD displays the following message: "An Application
Registration Change has been made for MPCMDRUN." I have no idea what this is
or if it is dangerous. Also, WD never asks me to "allow" or "block" anything
at all. I scan regularly, have XP w/ SP2, run EZ Armor firewall & Antivirus.
My computer has started running very slowly & I don't know if this is
connected. I empty cache, recycle bin, etc. regularly, have defrag analyze
once per week.

Hello pats1971,

MpCmdRun.exe monitors for the existence of new signatures and is responsible
initiating the updating process when new signatures are available.

This is probably happening because you have the box checked to notify you
about "Changes made to your computer by software that is allowed to run".

What you're seeing specifically is the WinDefend service updating the
scheduled scan jobs, which is nºrmªl.

For the benefit of the community reading this post, please rate the pºst.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.
