application not found when opening an attachment

I have tried to open file in outlook, comes up application not found, i can
save them in my pictures no problem, but dont always want to save them just
open them up to have a look

So we are talking about jpg-files here?
What is your default jpg-handler?
Which version of Outlook are we talking about here?

yes it is jpg, unsure what u mean about handler

I just click onto the file that i wish to open an it normally opens it with
out asking which package to use.
