I just fixed up a computer for someone with a new dialup account. It has
MAS installed. It was working fine when it left here. They got it home and
can't access the internet. It errors out after "verifying username and
password" with various error messages, usually the one about username or
password being incorrect. They mentioned to me on the phone that a "little
blue window" had popped up down in the corner asking whether to ignore or
disallow (or block) something. I'm guessing it was the one in my subject
line. So if they clicked that wrong, how do I go about undoing that? There
isn't anything in the blocked events logs.

You know....it's really not a good idea to install a beta on someone elses
computer when you don't have immediate access to it.

Well, who knows and Menno can check within MSAS for more logs.
Real time protection, "view all events" is one more place to look.

That's no problem... he lives close. Just trying to get some expert
advice before I go look at it. First I'll just turn it off and determine
whether MSAS is what is doing it.
Dammit! There's that damn "There are unused icons on your desktop" bubble
again. I thought I shot that one.

ALG is a piece of the Windows firewall, fwiw. As I recall the most well
hidden bit in Microsoft Antispyware is the always allow stuff--which is in
Options, Settings, Spyware Scan.
