hi

i had a system crash with a few problems on my registry, i ran chkdsk
/r which fixed the problem, but now when windows boots up i get
application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). The
applications are for services.exe and Isass.exe i cannot access any
windows programs as the screen is black with only the mouse showing. I
havent installed any new programs although when i tried to do a virus
scan on the computer the machine crashed then all my probems started,
do not want to reinstall windows as i have files i would like to keep.

have you tried accessing safe mode? You can do a restore from there.

You can also "repair" windows by booting your windows setup cd.....

If the above doesnt work then you may have to use your recovery console and
restore the hidden backups of the registry.....
