I Wanted to tell you this problem is for vista, so idk what to do and when i
try to install it again it says that defender is already equipped with vista.
so IDK I NEED Help THANK YOU

I too am receiving this error. However prior to this, I was receiving error
code 0x80240029. I looked for a solution and did not find one suitable for
this novice. So, I uninstalled Windows Defender from the Add/Remove area of
the control panel. Then I attempted to reinstall Windows Defender (file
downloaded from Microsoft site). Each time I attempt to install, I get a
message stating Vista has this software already installed. I would like to
reinstall Windows Defender (currently using Vista Business). Any ideas on
how this can be done? Thanks,
