Hi,

i have a problem that seems to be Service pack 4 related.
Since applying Service Pack 4, I cannot view any logs in
the application log.

I have rolled b ack to service pack 3 and all is well
again.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a fix or solutions.

Thanks in advance.

You could try booting the recovery console and deleting
C:\WinNT\System32\Config\AppEvent.EVT
on the theory that it is being corrupted during the upgrade.
When you restart, a new log will be created.

The temporary fix;
You might try changing the file properties to "Overwrite as needed"

Else; Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services|Event Log Service|General,
set the "Startup Type:" to "Disabled" restart the pc, then delete (or move)
the corrupt *.evt file(s) from %windir%\system32\config then set the Event
Log Service "Startup Type:" back to "Automatic", restart for effect.

The more permanent fix;
