The application event log file is reported by Windows to be corrupt. 4 days
ago it worked, today it won't. As far as I know I did not make any changes at
all.
How can I recover the file?

Not sure if recovering/repairing the log file is possible. But you can
delete the corrupt log so that new file is created.

How to Delete Corrupt Event Viewer Log Files:

file, perhaps I colud just delete it like that?

I don't use Firefox, I use IE6. When it loads, it says "Sorry, the page you
requested is not available.

The page you were looking for is currently not available. The address may
not be correct, or there may be a temporary problem with this site."

I don't think the instructions were written for XP, but no matter I worked it
out.
Thank you for going to the trouble of uploading it for me. You may delete it
now if neccessary. Thanks again.
