You know when an application crashes on XP Pro and it asks if you want to
send a report to Microsoft regarding the crash?

Is it possible to acquire the report sent to Microsoft from a Windows XP
platform generated by an application that crashed? If so, how do I get it?

Greg,
If I remember correctly, you'll find it in your %TEMP% directory.

Open a 'Command Prompt' window and type:

cd %TEMP%
dir /a /od /-p

....immediately after sending the report, and it should be the filename at
the end of the resultant list.

If you are having a problem and can explain the problem, the help may
be here but at least your original question might be answered, but if
you are just curious this may help:

Greg

Look in Event Viewer.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Right click on the Report in the
list and select Properties. In the window, which appears are three buttons
towards the top right of the window. The top one has an arrow up, underneath
is an arrow down and third is a button resembling two pages. Click the
button and close Event Viewer. It is not obvious but this action places a
copy of the report in your Clipboard. Now start your message (email) and do
a paste into the body of the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

The problem is that the report is generated on a product that we sold to a
customer and is being generated in the field. It is sent to MS and I need to
get my hands on it.
