Hi,

After installing windows updates last week some of my progs are crashing
with same error msg R6034.

Here is what happened:

1. Install XP SP3 via automatic windows updates
2. Restart. Ok.
3. Install some more updates.
4. Restart. Problem! Getting R6034 on some apps.

I'm sorry i cannot post the screen shots. I have a stable PC and I develop
on VS2005 and SQL2005. Adobe reader v8.1.2 is also crashing!!! A repair +
uninstall and reinstall does not solve my problem.

This is very urgent plz help.

Hi,
thanks for the reply. I have alreday read the articles you are pointing me
to. They do not apply to me because I didi not build this app and it has been
running perfectly since it was installed on my machine which I think was back
in April. I tried the compatibility test without any positive result. Here
are the messages I get:

1. >>>>>>>>>>>>

Program: C:\Program files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe

R6034

Well, what I gathered on the net is that the prob may be due to msvcr80.dll
file. Some even suggest I comes from .Net Framework 1.1 which must be
reinstalled. I do not want to play around with dll files on my development
machine. Please provide a good solution anyone.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I checked for a new version of Adobe Reader - which I
had thought was very unlikely - and v9 has been released! This solved my
problem.

Thanks again.
