after purchasing 2 new macs (imac and macbook), on the imac, we are
able to connect to the internet directly from the modem (Motorola
using comcast). however, we are not able to connect after hooking up
to the Linksys router. Does anyone have any tips to help us with this
please?

What does this have to do with Windows XP? You should take your question
to a Mac forum.

In the meantime, you need to correctly configure your router. Refer to
the router manual or website for details. You may need to configure the
router manually rather than run the CD - the instructions as to how to
do this are in the Linksys manual.

I have no idea what you have or haven't done but there is no problem
using a router with an Apple. I'm typing this on a MacBook now.
