What app will upconvert dvd's on a pc?

I am using power dvd on xp home edition. What do I need to beable to
up-convert dvd's to 720p? I have a 20 inch lcd widescreen monitor with
1982x112 resolution. Forgot the exact resolution numbers.

For HD you will need an HD DVD drive, HD videocard, HD video card drivers,
and HD DVD playback software.
Check out Nvidia's PureHD at their site.

"1982x112" ...missing number / typo ?

....I've done fair bit in video conversions e.g. converting from ntsc to pal
etc but, can't work out exactly waht you're trying to do ?

720p is one of the formats for high definition tv. 720 = 720 lines. p =
progressive scan.

You have done all that but don't recognize high definition format
definitions?
