I have something running that keeps warning and asking permission for
an app to change a regisitry entry.

I want it to stop but I don't know what it is.

It is not my firewall.

It appears to be a Windows XP SP2 thing that started after a clean
reinstall. - or maybe after an update was installed.

Maybe it has to do with Sysinternals but if so I don't know how to
stop it. When I say OK it doesn't remember and asks again on next
reboot.

any ideas.

Bill,

Regon for anything other than Vista & Process Mon for Vista

Regmon:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/s.../bb896652.aspx

Process Monitor:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/s.../bb896645.aspx

Of course there are others on the market. The makers of Spybot do a utility to watches the
registry, but it's more like 'regedit'
