I am building an application - it has duplicated itsself, naming the
duplicate "db1.mdb" Don't know when this happened... I'll simply return to
the DIR that my app is in, and there appears "db1.mdb"

I have other back end access apps do this. why is this happening?

You probably have "Compact On Close" set to ON. The "db1" files are the
remnants of a compact/repair operation that did not fully complete.

Remove 'Junk' from return address.

Yes - they ARE set to "Comp on close." Does this indicate a problem with the
files themsllves? Seems to occur on only filed that I have heavily edited
the structure
