If I create and publish a web using FP2003, does it matter if I have an
Apache Unix server hosting or a MS Windows server? Will one server work more
smoothly (less problems with FP compatibility)? Is one faster than the other?
Why does my WSP charge a different price for hosting based on their server?

Thanks!

A web host can charge anything they want, in general they have to pay for Windows Server software
whereas Unix/Linux software can be free.

If you want to use certain features of FP, you will need to be hosted on a Windows Server, here are
two items I can think of off the top of my head:

FP Database components
FP File Upload component

If you feel your current issue is a results of installing
a Service Pack or security update, please contact
Microsoft Product Support Services:
http://support.microsoft.com
If the problem can be shown to have been caused by a
security update, then there is usually no charge for the call.

Thomas,

Will the following pages work on a Unix/Linux web server?

http://www.billdavidson.biz/06Mailing_List.htm

http://www.pbabroker.com/02BusinessesForSale.htm

Do you know where I could find a complete list?

Thanks, again!

It depends on what server-side scripting and database is being used and if the web host support the
scripting language, there is no list. But I can tell you that you can not use Microsoft Access or
Excel as data source under Unix/Linux.

The above page appears to work.
