Hi tdsteele,
Those 2 problems indicate that the CD or CD Rom drive
are either dirty or defective. Since you tested with both
drives the problem most likely lies with the CD.
Clean the CD and use a repair kit on any scratches.
Test the CD on another system to see if you can play it.
