im running windows xp and i installed aoe2 gold and everytime i try to start the game i keep getting the eror saying age of empires has encountered a problem and needs to close im ready to take the game back but i thought i would give this a tr
before i do plz if u could help you would make me a real happy chappy

Here's what I was able to find on Microsoft's Knowledge base. The first
contains information about using shortcut options to launch the game to help
diagnose the problem. The second is a bug which likely isn't your problem
but fits the symptoms you described. Are you running as an administrator
on the machine?
