When troubleshooting issues running web apps it is often necessary to setup
the same IE settings on a test PC to reproduce the problem.
Is there a technique where the IE settings on end users PC can be saved in
file.
Tosh.

Hi Tosh :-)

You don't mention the version of WIndows you are using, but, here is a free
utility that will back up the IE settings, Favorites, Cookies, etc. and you
can copy the backup to the other computer, install the utility there, and
restore the backed up files to the new machine. This way, all the IE files
and settings from the one machine can be cloned to the new machine

BackRex - Internet Explorer Backup - Free Download
http://www.backsettings.com/internet...er-backup.html
Backsup all IE files, including Cookies and Favorites
I use this program and like it very much.

Hope this helps.

Jan,
Thank you for your response.
Not much in the world that is free these days. This utility will help
certainly.
I was hoping there might be a way to compare the settings and quickly see
the differences from one PC to another.

You're very welcome!

However, as an added note, you can take the backup log and open it in
Notepad or Wordpad and print it out so that you can have it on hand to
reference when checking the other settings.
