After doing a lot of homework, this looks like a nice product for the
individual developer at a reasonable price ($49) to replace the flawed
97 ODE setup wizard:

www.dev4pc.com/installer2go.html

Here is whitepaper on the problems with Access 97 distribution and how
to use Installer2Go for Access 97, together with some script files for
Installer2Go:

http://www.logico-solutions.com/Down...plications.EXE

Here is description from Sagekey of the bugs in the Access97
distribution program:

http://www.sagekey.com/access_97.aspx

(unfortunately the Sagekey product for Access 97 is $425)

Look at Inno Setup. Free and powerful.

Download the QuickStart pack from here.

I see no scripts or other information at Inno specifically for Access
97 ...

You should be aware that, even if you use a different installer, you will
have to license the Office 97 Developer Edition to have a license to
distribute the runtime support -- third party installers, even the expensive
ones, do not include a license to redistribute the runtime.

You should also be aware that advertising is not appropriate for technical
discussion newsgroups, and product recommendations not in response to
someone's question on the subject are, or at least appear to be, advertising
(aka "spam").

Larry,

I own the 97 ODE. I'm sure you know its setup wizard is flawed.

Your comment on advertising seems directed to the other poster.

If that is directed at my post, it's not advertising, as I am not associated
with the product, except as a user. My intention was to give an alternate
approach. I believe that is appropriate, but if the rules prohibit it, my apologies.
