I had to switchto a new server since the 1 July and since then I see no
messages, on any of the newsgroup

It you'd reset your article numbering, this wouldn't happen.

Newsreader clients keep track of article numbers, with their "newsrc"
file, but across all platforms, the software designers may not
use that name. That is the name you might have found in a Unix
environment. For example, if I edit my .rc file, (which I did),
and set

alt.comp.hardware: 1-1

and then connected to Eternal-September, my newsreader would pull
new articles until it was up to date.

If a person subscribes individually, to the newsgroups, one
at a time, the article numbering should also end up proper
and consistent. But I just copied my .rc file, for one news server
to the other, so I had to reset the article numbering. If I
had not done that, a potential side effect would be, no new
articles showing up.

But as long as it is on-topic, IMO there is nothing to complain about
and the answer is potentially very useful. That is true especially in a
text-based forum like this, where you can choose to read or ignore
anything.
