Since installing the latest critical updates (12/11/07) I have experienced
numerous error messages. I'm using Windows XP Pro with IE6. There were 8
updates in all and nothing else was changed on my system nor did I have any
errors prior to the updates.

I was having the exact same problem. Updating to IE7 seemed to fix the
problem.

Yes i am also getting errors. When I try to open IE6 on windowsXP home
edition I get the error saying an error was encountered and needs to
shut down . I send the report and try again . Sometines it opens on
the next try sometimes I need to send 2 or 3 reports before it will
open . Thinking of starting to use netscape if it continues. Must have
someting to do with the updates downloaded . Everything fine until
they were downloaded

I've been having same issue as others in this thread. The first time I open
IE6 I get the "Encountered error and must shut down" message. In my case,
whether or not I send an error report, after the shutdown, when I reopen the
browser comes up and operates in normal manner!

I do not want to upgrade to IE7 to fix it.

I also removed the same update and IE6 seems to be ok . When I rebooted the
little yellow triangle appeared in my task bar telling me Kb942615 was ready
to be installed . How to I get rid of this and how will I know when it can
be reinstalled

I removed Kb942615. I'll see what happens. I didn't get an error after
restarting so this is encouraging. Anyone know how to let the powers that be
know about this update and the headaches it's causing?
