Anyone ever see this registry key?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ `~6)t$

There are values in it. Should I try deleting it and backing up the
registry first? The multitude of spyware scanners and AV programs don't
seem to pick up anything. Btw, does Windows Defender do a deep registry
scan?

I had something like that (don't remember exactly what the characters where
but similar special characters) and deleted it with no problems after. I
can't verify what would happen for you though.

Leave that key alone, is my advice, although I'm not sure anything bad
happens if you remove it.

My recollection is that this is somehow related to issues relating to
DVD's--copy protection, region coding--something along those lines. It
isn't spyware or virus related in my opinion.
