We are looking for a way for people to do both short and long term
deployments (sometimes of 3 to 4 months) without having to worry about
activating the product over and over again. The problem with the MAK is that
every time we activate a Vista client we lose a license that we don't get
back. The problem with the KMS system is that we need 25 licenses before the
server will activate the clients, and VMs do not add to the count. Right
now we are testing in virtual exclusivly because it savees us lots of time
with snapshot feature so the fact that VMs don't drive up this count is
hurting us. Overall I think KMS is the way to go once we roll out Vista but
any suggestions in how we can make it work for us now are appreciated.
