Any Way To Run A WPC54GS Notebook Adapter on Win 98 SE

I just bought a Linksys WPC54GS Notebook Adapter at Comp-USA's going
out of business sale and all sales are final. Several online web sites
indicated this adapter supported Windows 98 including this Best Buy
one.

I missed the fine print on the box saying it required Windows 2000/XP.
I knew it needed that in order to get the Speed Boost feature to
function, but according to Linksys it needs Windows 2000/XP to operate
at all.

Does anyone know how to get this card running on a Windows 98 SE
system. The laptop is too old and slow to make upgrading it to Window
XP worth the cost. Hopefully there is some way to keep this from
becoming a paperweight. They were selling the networking gear for 50%
off the last five days, so I leaped a little too soon without
researching it enough.

TIA
