I worked on and saved an Excel 2007 file at 10:27 this morning.

Went to open it at 10:32 and it won't open. Says it's invalid or corrupt.

Any ideas (other than starting in safe mode) to help recover the file?

I hate to say it here but the fact is that Open Office can often read
Microsoft Office files that the original Office application describes as
corrupted.
