Any way to monospace drop-down lists, or align otherwise?

Is there any way to change the internal format of drop-down lists to a
monospace font such as courier? I have some drop-down lists whose
contents I would prefer line up more closely. As an example:

3-4 Steps <tab over> 6
5-7 Steps <tab over> 10

Such that I essentially have two columns in the drop-down list, each
left-aligned. Currently, it is very difficult to make the 6 and 10
align for instance, and even when accomplished manually it will change
if the zoom percent is altered.

Any help would be most sincerely appreciated.

Take a look at Debra Dalgleish's site here:

http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal10.html

where she describes using a Combo box for the drop down, which can
then be changed in a variety of ways.

Hope this helps.
