Any way to copy audio books ("books on tape") to CDs?

I have a large number of audio books on tape. A few are on CD but most are
on cassette. Is there any way to use XP to copy the information from
cassettes to CDs? There is no piracy intended here -- I purchased all of
the audio books, and the copies would be for my own use. My car has 117,000
miles on it, and I have learned that I probably will not be able to get a
cassette player when I buy a new car. Cassette players are apparently
considered "antique," and the new cars only offer CD players.
Unfortunately, my primary purpose for all of these tapes is to play them
when we are traveling. Incidentally, I have never so much as downloaded a
music file, so I am a complete neophyte when it comes to copying anything
other than plain data files.
