I am experiencing 3-5 second pauses just arrowing through received email. It
seems to take over the entire machine. I have loaded and ran optimization
tools and they all tell me my machine is 'optimized". I run virus scanners
(McAfee) and spyware tools - the machine is clean.

I installed 2007 Outlook to see if that would make a difference. It didn't.

It may be related to the send/receive cycles. I notice that there is a
significant pause (3-5 seconds) after the send and receive are completed.

Suggestions appreciated.

How often are you sending and receiving? Set it for no more frequently than
8 -10 min.

What type of email account do you have?
