Hello:

I had a question about setting up a home network. My brother just recently
moved in with me and he has my old Pentium 133 PC running Windows 98. I
have my Dell running Windows XP and I just recently subscribed to DSL
service through my phone company. What I'm wondering about is what would be
the best way to run a network to each system. I'm also interested in
including the Xbox in the network because I am subscribed to Xbox live and I
have several games that are capable of playing on the Live Network. Would
it be best to get a system that connects via hardwires or is there a
reliable wireless system that you could suggest to me that could connect all
three of these systems together? I understand that I have to get a network
card installed in the 133, and those are pretty cheap!

What is the best way to do this? What would be the best equipment to buy to
get everything connected?

Thanks for your help!

D.C.

Wired will be faster, cheaper, more secure, and more reliable than wireless. Go
wireless if you need to; otherwise go wired.

Basic setup is DSL modem to Router, router to individual machines.
