Any Quad Core CPU 'Hotfixes' for XP32?

Hi,

I just recently built a new gaming computer and I am using an Intel Q6600
Quad core processor. I also am using Windows XP Home Edition (32).

My question is, are there any 'hotfixes' that I may need to get the most out
of my system when using the quad core cpu, or will just keeping the operating
system (XP32) updated thru Windows Update take care of that? I am asking
because I previously had a system with a Pentium 4 processor with
Hyperthreading and there were 'hotfixes' for multicore/HT CPUs that were not
part of Windows Update.

I just want to get the most out of my system and any help or input would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

There is a thread here you can look at.

"Windows XP Multi Core config - Does your OEM do it for you?"
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=60416

The thread is relatively long, and sometimes, starting at the
last page (page 60 right now) and working back, you can find
the latest developments with respect to the advice given
on the first page.

OK, I did read it all, but the first post with the instructions has been
updated and current. it took about three minutes to implement. Also from
reading, it appears as if this fix will be included automatically in Service
Pack 3.

End result, I am satisfied that XP is doing all it currently can to support
my Q6600.

Many thanks!
