I'm about to inherit his site; www.krebsoptical.com . I've already imported
it into my local machine, but was wondering if I would have any problems
updating it (no big changes) with FP 2003.

Thanks for any input.

Mark

It has the Frontpage Server Extensions installed and operational. It looks
like a good inheritance. I would quickly get rid of the e-mail addressess,
and replace with a form to knock out the spammers.

If you imported the site instead of Publishing to your local machine, you do
not have all files. I suggest that you open it live and Publish to your
local machine.

Don't Import it, Publish it down to your local machine. Import only brings
in what the browser is seeing.

I can't seem to open this site. I've tried -file-open site-url method, but
no luck. I've tried to open the site in IE and 'edit with frontpage',
nothing. I get the error message...the folder http://krebsoptical.com isn't
accessible. The folder may be located on an unavailable volume or protected
with a password.

I've been asked to manage this site and need to publish it to my machine. I
was given the login info from the current host, but can't seem to even get
to the point where it asks for that info.

Thanks again,
Mark

Try accessing the site using the following:

http://www.krebsoptical.com/

and not

http://krebsoptical.com
which results in "Cannot find server..." error

If the problem can be shown to have been caused by a
security update, then there is usually no charge for the call.

Thanks for the reply Thomas, but I still get the same error message. I'm
quite sure this site wasn't created with FP. Does this mean I may not be
able to open and then publish it??

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark

The folder "http://Website" isn't accessible. The folder may be

located on an unavailable volume or protected with a password.

The remote site must be hosted on a server that has the FP extensions installed in order to open the
site directly in FP for editing or publishing.
