pick up a copy of the latest Maximum PC. Read about the way the mfg'ers are getting their
LCD/TFT/flatscreen's to refresh faster than ~25ms. Like first past is 260,000 colours the
next past is something less than 1.67 mil, then two bits are dithered real time to finish
screen draw - you just gotta read that article. Or maybe you did ?

me ? for now i'll stick to ~25ms and

Sony SDM-S71 Lcd flatscreen 17" (analog/no dvi)
1280x1024x32 @75hz display setting ~25ms
ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128meg DDR

I also do have an HP-70 TFT that i run with dvi and 1280x1025x32.

i still don't understand you question. (not that it matters) maybe you meant to ask this
in the Nvideo ng ? I then would be surprised they even are up to thinking about 16 bits.

You don't understand the question and you are calling the nv people stupid.
To clearify 32bit color level.

Depends on what the game runs better in.

For example, EverQuest and Earth and beyond both run better in 32-bit mode
because of the way they were coded.

No, and I don't think you can. The difference between 24 i 32 bit colour is
that the 32-bit has an aditional 8-bit channel which is used for
determaning transparency and is not used for displaying colors. That means
that 24 and 32 both can display the same number of colours (16.7 million,
which is more than the eye can see). The additional 8-bit chanal is used
only internaly by the videocrad, when rendering.
