Any P4P800-E Deluxe PATA RAID vs. XP software RAID benchmarks?

Gonna add a couple of older 40 PATA drives to my new P4P800E system for
scratch space, and I'm curious if there's any performance advantage to using
the Promise controller vs. just doing software RAID-1 in XP. I'd guess that
the software RAID would suck slightly more CPU than the Promise controller,
but only having used "real" RAID controllers (Adaptec, 3Ware) in the past I
have no idea how much work the Promise controller actually does and how much
is really just done by the Promise driver.
