Any issues with installing VS2008Pro on Win 7x64?

I have been using Google to search for this, but have found a few issues
only with the beta version of Windows 7; however, no mention is made
if it is x32 or x64. I will be installing VS2008Pro on a PC with Win 7
x64. Does any one know if there are any gotchas I should be on the
look out for? Thanks! Saga

None here :-)
I have four Win 7 x64 machines with both VS 2008 Pro and VS 2010 Premium
beta 2 on them and no issues have surfaced.
I use VS 2008 daily (working a project) and play with VS 2010 quite a bit.
All's well so far.

It's been a while since I installed it, but AFAIR, you have to install SP1
for VS2008.

If it installs SQL Server 2005, you'll have to install the appropriate SP
for that to work on Windows 7. I can't remember if the installer takes care
of that for you in the "Check for updates" stage.

And when you're doing web projects, you need to "Run as Administrator".

Other than that, no problems.

Thank you both for you replies. If all goes well (I get the discs) I will
be installing tonight. I will take into consideration you remarks regarding
SP1.

Speaking of admin privileges, I only have Power User privileges at work,
does this mean that I will be limited in the development that I do with
VS2008 Pro? Noteworthy is the fact that I do not have the local admin pwd.
Thanks! Saga

Thanks again all! I installed yesterday, complete with updates and SP1
and all went well. The only problem I had was with MSDN Library install
which reported that cab9.cab was corrupt because the signature did not
match. I am dealing with this now and will follow up. Saga
