I am trying to install a hotfix from Microsoft to fix my 'no audio' problem.
The file is KB888111 and while installing a message says I need to find a
file 'sthda'sys' to continue installation.

Any MS people here know where I can get this file or if there is a way
around it?

Seeing it's a sigma tel based product i'd advice you to check their website.
