Hiyah,
A friend of mine has a problem with their PC, sadly they can't connect to the
net to post this themselves, so they have asked me on their behlalf. If anyone
can help, they and I will be most appreciated, thanks !!
Okay, the problem is the PC turns on but the red light (by the drum/tube type
icon on the case) stays on and doesn't do much else. The computer hums but
doesn't post, no drives can be accessed, nothing comes up on the screen (except
a "no input" message".
To me it sounds like either a processor or motherboard failure, but I can't be
sure as I am far from an expert. I have told them to take out the power leads
from a few drives to check for any power problems, but it still didn't work.
All leads have been checked and are pushed in correctly.
Can anyone help ?
PC = Athlon 600, Win98, old style slot m/b, 256mb ram, 2xCD 1xHDD.
Many thanks everyone,
Jon
